How many deceased or other beings were present in the experience?
My husband was passing, my friend was holding
my 7 month old son, a priest, a nurse, and I myself were in the room.
Relation of deceased to you:
husband
Cause of death of the deceased:
complications from long term
diabetes and kidney failure, complications from kidney transplant failure
Was the date
of the experience significant in any way?
the experience occurred at the time of
death
Details of
location of experience and your activity at the time of experience:
Standing at my husband's bedside, watching
him receive last rites from a catholic priest.
Was the
experience witnessed or experienced by others?
Yes
Describe:
The only person in the room that didn't
have the same experience was the nurse, and I'm not sure what she saw.
Experience
description:
As my husband took his last breath, a
golden-white light went from him in a perfect arc to my son, and seemed to
explode around him. After the
formalities were over, my friend and I walked the priest to the elevator.
I asked them "Did you see what I saw?", and they both admitted
that they had. Then the priest
shushed me up, while my friend admitted that she was glad that I'd asked.
When we returned to the nurse, she claimed she hadn't seen anything, but
I don't think she was telling the truth.
Did
the voice or sound seem to originate externally, or outside of you, inside of
you, or did you not hear a voice or sound but had a knowing of what was
communicated?
I knew that my husband, with God's
blessing, had given my son a gift of some kind.
I also knew that my gift was the "sight" of what happened, and
the fact that my friend and the priest also saw this was so that I didn't think
I was going looney tunes. And so
that no one else thought I was going looney tunes.
Did you see the deceased?
Yes
Describe
the appearance of the deceased:
He was lying in his hospital bed, and
looked at peace for the first time in months.
Was the
beginning and end of the experience gradual or more sudden?
The end seemed like a million years of
bathing in this special light.
Did the experience give you
any spiritual understandings such as life, death, afterlife, God, etc.?
Yes
Describe:
It's nothing specific, just a knowledge
that cannot be shaken in regard to the fact that one's soul does live
on................................
Did you see a light? Yes
Describe:
The inner core of the light, and that
light closest to my son was a pure golden light, while the outer portion of the
light was the whitest white. The
light was in rays, and like an aura.
Did you observe or hear anything regarding people or events during your
experience that could be verified later? Yes
Describe:
My friend and the priest both confirmed
that they saw what I saw. I cannot
tell you where the priest is, but I do remember his name, and I do know where my
friend's son is, and he can contact her.
Did you have a sense of knowing special knowledge, universal order and/or
purpose?
Yes
Describe: The fact that there is a Universal order, and a purpose is what I came to understand at that moment. Not what the order is, not what the purpose is, but that these things are real, and that the knowledge of this is a gift in itself.
Has the experience affected your relationships?
Daily life? Religious
practices etc.? Career choices?
I find that I have no need to prove
anything to anyone. The knowledge that I have appears to hold all the keys to
life and what's truly important.
Have you shared this experience with others?
Yes
Describe: After 15 years of being shushed by a priest, I have only shared the experience with a few friends. They don't doubt what I'm saying, but few people seem to understand the depth of the unexplainable knowledge that is imparted in such an experience. Within the last 2 days I suddenly found that these experiences are more common than I'd realized and this sharing of the experience is the first really public one.
What was the best and worst part of your experience?
The best part of the experience was the
inner peace it's given me, the worst was the priest's inability to talk about
the experience.
Did the questions asked and information you provided
accurately and comprehensively describe your experience?
Yes
